"Emi" (Paulina Galazka) is an ambitious young girl who falls in with a pimp and her pal hosting parties for wealthy (and sleazy) men who are just looking to get laid. She proves remarkably successful and soon attracts the attention of "Sam" (Giulio Berruti) who is a fixer, of sorts, for some wealthy Arab gentlemen who are prepared to pay handsomely for their entertainments. Recruiting girls from all walks of life, she is soon on top of a thriving business - but can she stay there, and can she balance this globetrotting career with her new life with the handsome and wealthy equestrian "Bartok" (Jósef Pawlowski)? I think this is based loosely on a true story that shows no-one in much of a good light - neither the hookers nor the hooked, and is actually quite uncomfortable to watch. No expense has been spared on the location photography, the production is actually quite well strung together, but the story is all just a bit too grubby, and the acting (as opposed to the "acting") is all very, very poor - with the possible exception of the harridan "Dorota" (Katarzyna Figura). To deal with this sort of subject in a manner that doesn't just descend into seedy soft-porn is quite difficult, and I am afraid it is a task well beyond the skills of Maria Sadowska. I didn't like nor care for any of the characters. Their avarice and greed was equally distributed amongst some fairly odious characters all round, and I think perhaps this is a film that really just didn't need to be made.
