(1)I was really looking forward to this adaptation, although on the whole I guessed that a work of this magnitude would hardly succumb at the second attempt. Guess ... Of course, during the viewing it was not possible to avoid comparisons with the 1986 film, and this is what happened. In the old film version was almost immaculate hit with a choice of actors. All But the huge miscalculation is that, due to the lack of screen time, they simply cut off the entire boundless field of medieval culture, leaving a detective line, and expanded the melodrama unnecessarily - even the name was interpreted in this vein. The reasons are clear, but the film did not win. In fairness, the new series adheres to the book's interpretation of the title.
